Daniel Richert, Au.D.
Dr. Richert earned his Masters degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Western Illinois University in 1975. He received his Doctorate in Audiology from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. He holds a national Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology and a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech and Language Pathology.
Dr. Richert has taught and supervised graduate level students at Southern Illinois University. He has provided audiological services to the hearing impaired in North Missouri since 1986, and is presently licensed to practice audiology in Missouri and Iowa. He is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Richert has co-authored an article on communication disorders published in the Journal of Gerontology and co-authored research presented at the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Convention. His passions include restoring classic automobiles and spoiling grandkids.
Alisha M. Purdun
Business Manager/Hearing Instrument Specialist
Alisha, a Bethany native, began working in the Audiology and Hearing Aid field in 1988. In 1990, Dr. Richert and Alisha founded Horizon Hearing Services. She attended Central Missouri State University majoring in Business Management. Alisha became a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist in May of 1991. Since the death of her only child, Slade, at age nine in 1999, Alisha works tirelessly volunteering to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. When Alisha is not spending time with her niece and nephews, she enjoys training for marathons, traveling and experiencing the cultures of other countries.
Hearing Instrument Specialist/ Travel Coordinator/ Marketing Manager
Kimberly, a native of Chillicothe, joined the Horizon Hearing family after earning her state license as a Hearing Instrument Specialist in June 2010. Kimberly graduated from Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and a minor in Ethics. After college, she pursued a career in Massage Therapy, where she operated a private massage practice for over 10 years. Kimberly manages the Chillicothe, Brookfield, and Trenton branches of Horizon Hearing. She, and her husband, Tim, currently live in Chillicothe and enjoy traveling, caring for their dogs, and spending time with their grandson, Riley.
Front Office Staff - Chillicothe/Audiology Aide/Billing Specialist
Kate joined the Horizon Hearing family in 2013. She attended Northwest Missouri State University, majoring in Mass Communications. After college, Kate married her longtime friend Seth. Together, they manage their 4,000 acre farm and several head of cattle. In July of 2015, they welcomed their first child, Avery. They are expecting their second child in August. Kate and Seth reside in Mooresville, MO, and enjoy spending time with their family and friends.
Front Office Staff-Kirksville/ Audiology Aide /Veteran’s Affairs Coordinator
Cindy has been with Horizon Hearing since May 2014. She recently has received her Audiology Aide Certification from the State of Missouri. Cindy’s favorite aspect of her job is the interaction with the clients and being able to help them with their hearing aids. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and cooking and watching old movies. She and her husband, Bert, reside in La Plata, MO
